overview
Shinshu Otaniha, Shingyozan, Koyuji Temple.
Koyu-ji Temple was founded by Osoin Shaku Koyu, who named the temple “Koyu-ji Temple.”
After propagating Buddhism in various countries from Kaga during the Keicho era (1596-1615), Koyu’s father, Kozai, built a thatched hut in Jinego, Chokai Town. This was the predecessor of Koyuji Temple. Later, the hut was moved to Yashima castle town, and with the cooperation of the Ikoma clan and local people, Koyu II carried on with his father’s wishes and built Shingyozan Koyuji Temple.
