overview
Hachiman Shrine.
Hachiman Shrine, located in a corner of Nejotate, is said to have been built by Oi Goro Mitsuyasu, one of the “twelve Yuri clans” who ruled the domain of Yashima during the Eiroku period.
As it is a valuable building in Akita Prefecture, with its stately roof and carvings of elephant trunks, headpieces, curved wooden support on top of the main beam, and other distinctive features, the main shrine is designated as a Tangible Cultural Property of Akita Prefecture.
